Luxury Coastal Pool House and Primary Bath Renovation in Potomac

Homeowner Challenge:

When the clients purchased their home, the pool house hadn’t been renovated since its original construction as a horse barn. The outdated space felt closed off and uninviting, making it hard to feel like a natural extension of the main home or a welcoming area for guests. The clients envisioned transforming this historic structure into a light, comfortable gathering space for friends and family, seamlessly connected to the outdoors. Their goals were clear: a light-filled, airy space with an open kitchen for entertaining, direct access to the pool area, and an upstairs guest suite with privacy and an abundance of natural light. The clients also wanted shaded outdoor seating, allowing for comfort by the pool on hot days.

The BOWA Solution:

BOWA and designer, Studio 360, delivered a complete transformation, crafting a coastal-inspired pool house that meets all of the clients’ goals while preserving the barn’s original charm. The company introduced wider openings and new sliding doors, beautifully connecting the indoor and outdoor spaces to let natural light flow throughout. The new kitchen and island provide a central hub for entertaining, blending functionality with warmth. Upstairs, we designed a private guest suite complete with pocket doors and a private bath, offering a serene retreat with all the desired privacy. Outside, a gable and front porch provide shaded seating, inviting friends and family to gather comfortably by the pool. Now, the pool house seamlessly blends into the lush backyard landscape, creating an inviting oasis for gathering, entertaining, and enjoying quality time together.
