July 4th Fundraiser Encourages Participants to Walk, Jog, Run in Potomac, Md. or Wherever They’re Celebrating Independence Day

BOWA (https://bowa.com), a home transformation company specializing in the design and construction of luxury renovations and additions will once again serve as the presenting sponsor for the 12th annual Autism Speaks 5K Run and One-Mile Walk on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 in Potomac, Md.

“New statistics are out and show that one in every 88 children is affected by autism,” said Steve Kirstein, BOWA principal, sponsorship chair for the Autism Speaks 5K and Run and One-Mile Walk and board member with the National Capital Area chapter of Autism Speaks. “Plus, one in every 54 boys receives this diagnosis. It is a growing health crisis with virtually everyone knowing someone affected.”

The Autism Speaks 5K Run and One-Mile Walk is continuing its three-year tradition of asking participants to run, even if they are not physically located in Potomac, Md. The “Run Anywhere” initiative allows competitive runners and families to participate no matter where the Fourth of July holiday takes help raise money for the cause.

“Participating in the Autism Speaks 5K is a long tradition for BOWA, and we are proud to help fund research to get to the bottom of this growing developmental disorder that is increasingly impacting families,” said Josh Baker, founder of BOWA.
