Design Build Capitol Hill Renovation
Homeowner Challenge:
The homeowners of this 1880’s Capitol Hill rowhouse wished to renovate the old, cramped kitchen to better accommodate their lifestyle and love of entertaining. Additionally, they wanted to improve the flow between the first-floor spaces and the rear yard.
The BOWA Solution:
The back wall of the kitchen was bumped out and an awkward wall removed. The existing door was relocated and the new addition maximizes natural light and allows for easy access to the remodeled rear yard. A center island offers plenty of space for food preparation and storage. The homeowners, who enjoy hosting gatherings in their home, are thoroughly enjoying their warm, inviting new kitchen.
Project Highlights:
- Dove gray custom cabinets and island with contrasting granite countertops
- Combination red and white oak custom floors finished to blend with existing floors
- Kitchen bump out includes egress to new rear patio with privacy fence
