Kitchen Expansion and Outdoor Entertaining Area in Great Falls, VA

Homeowner Challenge:

This was an exciting renovation as our new client had purchased a custom home BOWA built in 2005 but wanted to make slight alterations to make the kitchen fit their lifestyle. The space was originally designed to accommodate cooking, with meals enjoyed in the formal dining room. The new homeowners wanted an informal dining area within the kitchen, while keeping the existing timeless style found throughout the rest of the home.

The BOWA Solution:

BOWA built a kitchen addition that incorporated the original design, cabinetry style and overall feel of the rest of the home. This expansion included an informal eat-in area with additional seating at the new island, larger appliances, and additional storage throughout. The original cabinetry design was reflected in this new space, while increasing usable counter space with two large islands. A new outdoor entertaining area was built adjacent to the kitchen, providing additional space for casual gatherings and grilling.

Project Highlights:

  • Outdoor pizza oven
  • New addition takes advantage of the expansive property views
  • Materials made to match the original home
  • European-style range with custom hood
