Lower Level Renovation Creates Wonderful Spaces for Ashburn, Virginia Family

Homeowner Challenge:

The homeowners wished to remodel their large lower level to make it more compatible with the other spaces in the house and give it a warm and inviting feel for family gatherings and entertaining while also providing functional egress to the home’s outdoor spaces.

The BOWA Solution:

The addition of butterscotch stained oak flooring, wood moldings and a warm color palate throughout set the tone for this lower level renovation. The BOWA design build team created distinct spaces throughout while maintaining an open and spacious feel. Custom built-ins were designed to provide ample hidden storage and organization. Consistent with the original goal of the project, traffic flow from the main level to the lower level and from the lower level to the outdoors was improved with the use of doors that create a circular flow through the spaces.

Project Highlights:

• A large bar with polished granite countertops, custom cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances which serves as a secondary kitchen for outdoor entertaining
• Media room with state-of-the-art home theater and sound system
• Dedicated game room adjacent to bar and separate playroom for children
